Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Stormfield Theatre will provide the perfect date-night comedy. Romantic Fools, a vaudeville revue by playwright Rich Orloff, consists of 12 hilarious sketches about love, lust, dating and romance. From a date with a caveman (Find Me a Primitive Man) to the joys of dull sex (One Man’s Secret Desire) to the surprise frustrations of having a perfect mate (The Stepford Guy), Orloff, who suffers under the influences of Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, the Marx Brothers, and classic vaudeville comedy, celebrates the inherent absurdities of male-female relationships.

Take note: this show is for adults only!
Rich Orloff claims he is one of the most popular unknown playwrights in the country. His fifteen full-length comedies include Big Boys, winner of the Auricle Playwriting Award, and Skin Deep, winner of the Larry Corse Playwriting Prize. Romantic Fools has had 30 productions around the world and played over a year in Madrid and Belgrade. Altogether Orloff’s plays have had over 800 productions on six of the seven continents, including a staged reading in Antarctica. “Upcoming projects,” he says, “include getting a life and going for a swim.”
Romantic Fools will be directed by Rob Roznowski, Associate Professor and Head of Acting and Directing at Michigan State University, and will star Roger Ortman, who appeared in the BoarsHead Theater’s production of Three By Poe, playing Edgar Allan Poe himself, and local favorite Lisa Sodman, who has directed or acted at the Riverwalk Theatre, the Starlight Theatre, and the Purple Rose Theatre.
